Stakeholder Categories and Roles
Introduction
The stakeholder categories framework is a useful tool for identifying the roles and responsibilities that can exist in the context of a product development project or change initiative. Its a handy reference to identify the key stakeholders, their roles and contribution specific to the product development project or change management programme.
Using this framework, you can outline the potential roles and stakeholders under four buckets:
- Business - Senior management who sponsor the project
- Project - People managing the solution teams
- Technical - Experts who provide direction and guidance
- Solution - Core team who work on the proposed solution
Purpose
To identify the key stakeholders who form part of the sponsors, core and support teams, working on the project/change initiative.
