Introduction

Undoubtedly, one of the most important competencies that a BA professional puts to use day in and day out is working with team(s). Not just working in a team, but BAs are used to working with multiple teams at a time.  

Here we need to differentiate the dynamics between groups and teams. While both could have numerous people working together, teams are often more successful due to the cohesion, collective vision and effective communication that exist among the members. 

As part of this team working competency, let's have a look at the 3C model. 

  1. Communication - Open interaction among team members 
  2. Cooperation - Members comfortable with others in the team  
  3. Cohesion - Shared goals & common understanding help achieve the goals    


Scope

Team working is a critical skill for BAs in every industry, market segment, domain and vertical - be it a project, change management programme or product development initiative. 

Purpose

This skill helps BAs with better facilitation and a greater understanding of the needs, goals and expectations of team members and the stakeholders.
