Introduction

People are more important than the machinery, tools and processes and hold the key to successful implementation in any initiative, project or program. Stakeholders come with different names, forms and are at various levels, both inside and outside the organisation.

Stakeholder analysis, communication and management constitute the most important activities in a typical day of business analysts. Effective stakeholder management starts with the identifying the stakeholders at various levels, both within and outside the organisation. This includes the roles, responsibilities, power/influence of the stakeholders and their attitudes. These help draw up appropriate communication and engagement strategies targeted for the specific stakeholders.
